Do my clients pay anything?+
Not to approve your work — reviewing, approving and downloading tickets is free for them, forever, with unlimited approvers. Control, the client-side budget product, is a separate optional plan that owners buy for themselves; nothing about your workflow depends on it.
What counts as a full user?+
Anyone on your team who signs in to build or manage tickets — owners, admins and foremen. Operations and Pro include 10, then $40 per additional user per month. Operators — crew who only check in and log their own hours — are free and don't count. Control includes 3 users, then $95 per additional user per month.
Is there a trial?+
Operations and Pro: 7 days, no card required — load a real PO and rate sheet and run live tickets through it before deciding. Control: 7 days through checkout — a card is taken, but nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then.
What happens if a payment fails?+
You keep working. Access isn't cut off for a failed card — stranding a foreman at a jobsite doesn't collect the debt. You'll get a clear warning to update the card.
Can I switch plans or cancel?+
Any time, from the billing page — upgrade, downgrade or cancel. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. After that your records stay readable and exportable for 90 days in case you come back or need a signed ticket for a dispute.
What if my client won't join?+
Then nothing changes for you. You write and sign tickets exactly the same way, and send each one for approval by a one-time link — they review and sign it in their browser, no account, no password. It's binding and it draws down the PO the same way. When they do join, every ticket you've already written carries over.
What happens to my data if I leave?+
It's yours. Export everything — tickets, invoices, signed PDFs, the CSV your accountant wants — from inside the product at any time, before or after you cancel. A cancelled account stays readable for a retention period so you're never locked out of a record you might need in a dispute. We don't delete signed documents.
My foremen won't use software. Why is this different?+
Because it was built by someone who ran crews, not by someone who interviewed a few. A ticket starts from yesterday's crew template, prices itself off the PO, and gets signed on the phone by your field rep. Most foremen touch it for five minutes a day. If yours won't, the trial will tell you that for free.
Does it work with no signal?+
We're actively improving this. A ticket written in a dead zone holds on the device and uploads when coverage returns. If the rate sheet isn't cached either, it's captured unpriced and the office prices it later — nothing is guessed at. Available Q4 2026.
Can I bring my own rates and cost codes?+
Rate sheets load from a spreadsheet, per PO, with overtime, standby, travel and minimum-billing rules attached. Cost codes are yours — and if a client on Pit & Rig requires their own coding structure, you'll see their codes offered on every line.
Is a signature in Pit & Rig legally binding?+
We capture the signer's name, title, timestamp, IP, and a hash of exactly what was on screen — and freeze the PDF at that moment. That's a stronger evidentiary record than a carbon copy. Whether it satisfies a particular contract is a question for the contract; most we've seen accept electronic signature explicitly.
