Who sends these texts
Pit & Rig Inc., an Alberta corporation ("Pit & Rig"), sends text messages on behalf of contractors who use Pit & Rig to manage their daily field tickets. Every text names Pit & Rig and the contractor it comes from.
What you'll receive
Pit & Rig texts are transactional only. You'll receive a link to review and approve a daily work ticket — a record of labour, equipment and materials — that a contractor has asked you to sign off. Nothing else: no marketing, no promotions, and no messages unrelated to tickets you've been asked to approve.
An example: "Pit & Rig: Northern Drilling Ltd. asks you to approve LEM-0042 ($6,583.10) for 2026-09-22. Review and sign: https://app.pitandrig.com/approve/… (expires in 72h). Reply STOP to opt out."
How you agree to receive them
You give your mobile number to the contractor — typically on site, as the client's representative for the work — and agree to receive approval requests by text. Before the first text is sent, the contractor must confirm in Pit & Rig that you agreed; Pit & Rig records who confirmed it and when. Texts are never sent to numbers bought, rented or collected any other way.
Agreeing to texts is never a condition of doing business with the contractor. You can ask them to use email instead at any time.
How often
One text when a ticket is sent for your approval. If it's still waiting a day or more later (three days by default), a reminder — at most one on any day, never on a weekend, three in total by default and never more than ten. Reminders stop the moment the ticket is approved, returned or withdrawn. Message frequency varies with how many tickets the contractor sends you.
Message and data rates may apply.
Stopping texts
Reply STOP to any Pit & Rig text to stop receiving them. You'll get one confirmation message and nothing further. STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE and QUIT all work. To start again, reply START.
